What is Pacific Boating?
Pacific Boating operates Sydney’s longest-running, premier boat membership Programme. For over 20 years, we’ve been providing unparalleled access to Sydney’s finest waterways. Our fleet of 19 sports cruisers are impeccably maintained and available to first timers and lifelong boaters alike.
How is a Pacific Boating membership different from owning a boat or a boat share/syndicate?
Unlike any other ownership model, be it outright or shared, a Pacific Boating membership comes with minimal up-front cost. Additionally, for the duration of your membership with us, you’ll know exactly what you’ll pay for all major costs, including joining fee, monthly membership fee, and optional insurance excess reduction (offering $0 excess on damages). The only variable cost is the fuel you use on your cruise, along with some minor courtesy items.
How long do I need to sign up for a Pacific Boating membership?
A standard contract has a minimum term of 12 months. On occasion, we may have special offers that allow for shorter commitment periods, and we encourage you to contact us for details on these. Once you complete your initial term (whether 12, 24, or 36 months), your membership automatically runs on a continuous basis. We simply require three months’ notice should you wish to complete your membership. This policy aids in our dedicated forecasting and planning for fleet maintenance, ensuring our boats remain in pristine condition for all members.
What happens if I am transferred or need to opt out due to illness or other life changes before the end of my initial term?
The Terms and conditions of membership require you to complete your initial term, however, we are as flexible as we’re able to be with members whose life circumstances come in the way unexpectedly. In those instances, we will work with you to understand your situation and, where practical, come to a reasonable agreement. This ensures Pacific Boating has the continuity to upkeep their fleet according to forecasts and plans that they’ve made, while also affording you the space to handle the unexpected challenges in your own personal circumstances.
What happens if I don't pass the training?
Out comprehensive training programme is designed to train complete novices and in almost all cases, we’re able to provide enough training for members or prospective members to ensure that they gain the necessary skills and confidence to handle most situations with ease and enjoy their boating with us at Pacific Boating. In the rare case where we determine a member is unable to grasp the skills required to safely skipper our cruisers, we will ascertain in consultation with a prospective member that going boating with us on our boats is not for them. In these instances, where we have made every attempt possible with your training, we will be happy to refund your joining fee and let you find another recreational pursuit.
