We operate on two of Sydney’s premier waterways with locations at Sydney Boat House, Rozelle (Sydney Harbour) and Quays Marina on stunning Pittwater.
Ideal for day cruising, these boats are easy to operate, especially for individuals or couples, thanks to features like the joystick control and Skyhook GPS-based positioning. The 32s offer a comfortable and well-designed cockpit and stunning bow ride area, suitable for smaller groups.
These boats offer more space and are suitable for families, friend groups and small business groups of up to 12 people. Ideal for both day use and overnighting, our 44 class can accommodate up to 6 people across 3 double berths. They represent a versatile starting point for a variety of boating adventures at an incredibly reasonable price.
The largest in our fleet, the 52s provide ample space, making them ideal for business use (e.g., taking out clients and prospects) or larger family/friendship groups up to 12 people, especially if you desire more room. They are well-suited for overnight stays and are particularly popular with families due to features like the bunk cabin and double ensuite toilet and showers.

What should I expect to pay for fuel on different boat sizes? Lindsay… I would be very careful listing fuel usage as it is so dependent on each member and how they handle the boats.
Fuel costs will vary depending on the size of the boat, distance travelled and the speed you cruise at. The price of fuel changes daily, similar to road fuel prices. Our trainers will provide guidance on operating the boats most efficiently as part of your training. On average our members use the following by boat class and location:

How many members does each boat class have?
When are membership costs incurred?
The $1500 joining fee is charged at the time you sign the membership application form, and your membership is approved. Your first monthly membership fee will be charged on the first working day of the first month of your membership. This can be days or months in advance, depending on your schedule.
Can I set up a direct debit for my monthly membership fees or do I have to pay by credit card?
While parts of your fees, such as the joining fee, fuel usage charges and sundry items, will be charged to a credit card, the bulk of your monthly fees, including the monthly membership fee and the optional IER, can be paid via a credit card or direct debit as a fee-free option. It is your choice.
How often can I use a boat with my membership?
Depending on the membership access you choose, all three classes offer 5 and 7- day membership options, providing between 12 and 24 days of cruising per year. For members who anticipate using a boat more frequently, we offer options to cover more than 24 days per year. Our advanced booking system has been refined over many years to ensure all members have equal access to the boats, regardless of the season or demand. We strongly recommend utilising these advanced bookings, especially for peak times. While we cannot guarantee short-notice availability during the busiest periods, our system is designed to maximise access for all members.
What if I want to boat more than my allotted advance bookings or credits?
Our membership programme allows us to provide opportunities for you to take boats out over and above the bookings that you’re allocated as part of your membership. In these instances, we charge what is called an “unlimited access fee,” which is a nominal fee to take the boat out for extra days on the class that you are signed up to.
How are popular days handled, and are there any days when I can't take a boat out?
We have specific exceptions regarding days during the year. We are closed on Christmas Day and Good Friday, allowing our staff full downtime for these days. Additionally, New Year’s Eve, Boxing Day, and Australia Day are considered ballot days. You can enter the ballot at any point during the year up until early November, when winners are notified. If your ballot entry is unsuccessful, your booking and credits will be returned for use on other days during the summer quarter. Members wishing to take the PBG Boats out in the evening on New Year’s Eve or on New Year’s Day are required to book the PBG Boat for both the day and evening of the 31st December and the day of the 1st January.
Can I pause my membership when I go away on holidays?
As a standard, we operate on a quarterly basis with your bookings and credits to allow the flexibility for time that you will be away on work or on holiday during your time with us. Our expectation is that you are therefore able to arrange your bookings for each quarter around any time that you will be away. In some instances where lengthier times away or unforeseen circumstances dictate, please speak to us, and we will do our best to afford you flexibility within your membership.
Are there any additional costs for courtesy items or add-ons?
There are minor costs associated with courtesy items that you can select for your crew, such as ice and Stand-Up Paddleboards (SUPs). These are for items conveniently provided through Pacific Boating, rather than items you would need to bring yourself.
Do I have to pay mooring fees?
All normal costs associated with owning your own boat are covered under your monthly membership fee when you become a member of Pacific Boating. This means there are no additional mooring fees, maintenance fees, upkeep fees, berthing fees or any other of the standard costs that you might have if you were to go boating outside of our membership programme. The only additional cost that for you is the fuel that you will use during the cruise on your day on the water.
Fuel costs will vary depending on the size of the boat, distance travelled and the speed you cruise at. The price of fuel changes daily, similar to road fuel prices. Our trainers will provide guidance on operating the boats most efficiently as part of your training. On average our members use the following by boat class and location:
- 32-foot boat: Pittwater 65 litres, Sydney Harbour (SBH) 75 litres.
- 44-foot boat: Pittwater 65 litres, Sydney Harbour (SBH) 55 litres.
- 52-foot boat: Pittwater 95 litres, Sydney Harbour (SBH) 75 litres.
What if I think my fuel bill is too high?
All Pacific Boating cruisers are fitted with Fuel Monitoring Systems that allow you to monitor fuel usage per hour during your cruise and will show you the total fuel used at any stage during your cruise and in total when you have returned to the marina at the end of your cruise. If you believe your fuel bill is unexpectedly high, one primary factor is speed; slowing down generally reduces fuel consumption. Our training will cover efficient boat operation, providing you with the knowledge to manage your fuel usage effectively.
Is there a loyalty program or discounts for long-term members?
We absolutely reward our members for boating with us for longer periods. In some instances, this could be represented in a discount on your monthly membership fee. We may also be able to provide you with complimentary upgrades to larger boats within the fleet and, on occasion, additional days of boating free and complimentary for you.
I'm having trouble understanding the booking system. Can somebody help me?
Yes, our friendly membership team is available to assist you. We understand there’s a lot to learn when you start a membership with us, and while we provide upfront information, we are also here to support you through each stage of your membership. If you finish your membership with us before those bookings, come around, the system will automatically remove them and free up those days for our other members who are remaining current.
What stops everyone from piling up at one time?
Our advanced booking system, which has been built and refined over many years, is designed to enable all our members have equal access to the boats regardless of the season and demand. We highly recommend utilising these advanced bookings for the busiest times.
What is the longest amount of time I can book a boat for?
A standard booking is a 22-hour period, allowing you to pick up the boat at 10:00 AM and return it by 8:00 AM the following morning. Depending on your membership access and the days you are booking, you may be able to book a boat for up to three consecutive days for extended time on the water. This is particularly suitable for our Pittwater location where there are many quiet and picturesque bays to explore. Pacific 32 Class Members are permitted to make single day bookings only.
Can I book a boat in a different class or upgrade/downgrade my membership?
Pacific Boating members sign up to one specific class of boat. This policy ensures consistent access for all members within that class and allows us to fulfill our booking obligations to each member. Therefore, we do not permit switching between different boat classes for standard bookings. However, if you decide to upgrade your membership to a larger boat class partway through your contract, we can facilitate this with some extra training, without requiring a new contract. Uniquely, for our 52- foot members, once you have been a member for a period, we can provide our class transfer training to our 44-foot fleet. If a 52-foot boat is not available on a standby basis for your desired cruising day, and a 44-foot boat is available, we can secure your booking on a 44-foot vessel to enhance your access to our fleet.
How many members does each boat class have?
We provide and commit to our members being able to access their chosen class of boat for 12 or 24 days of cruising (according to your membership). This commitment dictates our membership numbers on each class of boat. Our proud 20-year history and hundreds of publicly accessible online reviews attest to our commitment to looking after our members and ensuring their access to our fleet.
